Our stay at Sandcastle, welcomed us just steps away from the ocean, with breathtaking view of La Selva Beach, nestled along the scenic shores of Monterey. The gentle sound of waves and the crisp sea breeze created an atmosphere of pure tranquility that enveloped us throughout our stay.From our vantage point, we watched the lively scene unfold from the large windows and sitting on the deck and taking long walks, surfers catching waves, people fishing along the shoreline. La Selva Beach’s dog-friendly atmosphere added to the joy, watching the happy dogs and their owners enjoying the sand and sea together, making it a perfect spot.During our visit, we ventured out to some fantastic local eateries close by. The Bittersweet Cafe offered a cozy atmosphere with delicious offerings, and Cilantros Mexican Food never disappoints — always starting with their signature salsa and chips. For fresh seafood and ocean views, Sea Harvest-Moss Landing locations was a highlight, where we enjoyed a feast of seafood while watching the boats out to sea and kayakers gliding along the waterways.Overall, this vacation beach house has everything, all the amenities you need and more, its surroundings provided a serene escape filled with natural beauty, delightful. We enjoyed trying local cuisine, and the simple pleasure of being close to the ocean. Beautiful location, and very comfortable place to stay! I do not have one negative thing to say about this extraordinary place to stay. The ocean waves at night will lull to sleep. The comfort of this home will make you want to stay longer than you planned. The ocean is calling, this is where you need to be!
I do not know where to start. I got lucky finding this beautiful rental property for a vacation stay. I simply put in hotels near Santa Cruz and this beautiful property popped up. We did arrive later then expected and had a little trouble with the booking arrangements but Greg fixed the problem in less then 5 minutes! So if he doesn’t answer the first time just give him another ring. I am a mother of 4 with two autistic boys and this was the perfect place for them rather than staying in a hotel. The rooms are quit big. Everything was clean. Lots of soft good quality towels to use plus things around the home your welcome to like seasoning for food and shampoo dispensers in the both shower in case you forget yours. WiFi worked really well. The walk to the beach is less than 2 minutes away. Over all my family or 6 loved it. We all gave this place a 5 star . My oldest actually said 10 stars. It was such a wonderful stay As long as it’s available we will be long term returning customers every year 😊 thank you again Greg . It was absolutely wonderful . God bless.
This was by far one of the best and most magical vacations I've experienced in years! We had the good fortune to be able to stay in this beautiful home, right on the beach, over the New Year, and it was a perfect way to celebrate. The accommodations were entirely deluxe, and yet relaxed. We felt welcome and at home with our dog and made great use of our immediate proximity to the beautiful beach just steps away from our door. Waking up to the view of the sunrise and going to sleep with the sound of the waves were other highlights of this wonderful stay. We did have one little problem which was immediately and kindly addressed by Greg, the owner, who was very tolerant and supportive, considering that I had to text him on a holiday. All in all, I would not only highly recommend the Sandcastle as a prime vacation destination, but I would certainly book a return visit in a heartbeat! Thanks for a great start to 2025!!
We stayed at Sandcastle with friends and it was hands down one of the most spectacular stays we have ever had. Firstly, the view is absolutely breathtaking. The main bedroom and main floor offer a floor to ceiling view of the ocean and beach area. The balcony was large enough for all 4 of us. We were able to enjoy dolphins swimming by every time we sat out on the deck. It is well appointed and there was nothing that we needed and were not able to find within the unit. We LOVED Sandcastle and will 100% be back one day!
My family used this as a getaway for reflection and family time after my father passed away. It was a fabulous place. Everything was clean and beautiful. The view was amazing. We saw a lot of whales from the balcony! The beach access was perfect. Wonderful place and we will be back!

This serene and elegant coastal abode boasts unmatched vistas of the Santa Cruz and Monterey Coast, along with expansive views of the Pacific Ocean from all three levels of the residence. Additionally, Sand Castle offers direct beach access from the ground floor. If you are contemplating a visit to Monterey, Capitola, or Santa Cruz, I wholeheartedly endorse experiencing the splendor of Sand Castle. During our honeymoon, my newlywed wife and I were fortunate enough to spend time at that incredible place. It's an experience that we will always hold dear and look back on with fond memories throughout our lives.

We are absolutely in love with Sand Castle and have now utilized this beautiful home several times. After renting homes on Beach Drive in Aptos for 25 years, this property is like finding heaven and Greg and Barbie are extraordinary hosts. The moment you walk through the front door you feel like you're home. We never want to leave.
Had another amazing week vacation with our toddlers and dogs. Barbie and Greg are such wonderful hosts. The condo is always clean, tidy, and well stocked with all your vacation needs. Barbie and Greg have made sure that the kitchen has every appliance and utensil you could think of, unlike many other vacation homes. It is so peaceful and quiet, even with a 3 & 4 year old. We wish we could visit every month!

This was the first time we've stayed at a beach house and what a wonderful first experience we had at Sandcastle. The view is spectacular. We woke up each morning watching the ocean and the many surfers, and went to sleep watching the incredible stars. We had such a relaxing trip, walking on the beach and even saw a huge sea lion sunning himself on the beach. Our dog loved being on the beach and going for long walks. The decorating in the house is beautifully done. They have thought of everything. The kitchen is well stocked. We brought in our food when we came and never had to leave. It was amazing to just relax, hang out, and look at that incredible view. The unobstructed views from both the living room and the bedroom are breath taking. They even had binoculars available. We left the sliding door open and enjoyed the sound of the waves. Our dog enjoyed being able to walk out on the deck and watch the other dogs on the beach. We had an incredible stay and would gladly return. We've already raved about Sandcastle to all our friends and family. Everything was amazing from start to finish. Greg was very helpful and always responsive to questions. If you are thinking of staying here, book it, you won't be disappointed.

This was the 3rd time in 11 months we stayed at Sand Castle, and once again, it didn’t disappoint. It was the perfect place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The location is perfect: far enough from crowded beaches and close enough to great restaurants, shopping, hiking, and anything else you want to do. W love to have the windows and slider open to the gorgeous sound of the waves and cool breezes. It’s perfect. Greg is a very gracious host. IT’s everything you can ask for in a getaway spot.
Our family has been coming back to Sand Castle for several years now, and each time we stay, we fall in love with it all over again. The location is unbeatable, with stunning views of the ocean and unforgettable sunsets. I took my GoPro this time around to capture all the beauty this property offers. The house itself is always immaculate and well-maintained, with a warm feel to it. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything we need to cook meals, and the bedrooms are always cozy and comfortable. We also love the balcony overlooking the ocean, which is perfect for grilling and spending time together as a family. The host has always been amazing! Booking out next trip back soon.

We had a wonderful few days right on the beach with our 8 and 10 year olds-- our bernedoodle, too! The views were incredible, and we enjoyed visiting on the balcony for sunset, playing in the sand (awesome access), walking along the wide beach, playing games, and taking a hike in the nearby redwoods. I was a lovely breath of sea air only a short distance from home. We had everything we needed for it to be an easy and comfortable weekend away. We'd love to go back!
Fantastic quick and easy get away! We Love the whole coastal area and are usually there for day trips on weekends. The accommodations were absolutely perfect! everything you need is right there for you. I would recommend you do read the property features outline before arriving. Made us very familiar with all the property features, and made the stay that much more comfortable. I would recommend a minimum 3 night stay to really enjoy your time there. Definitely looking to my next visit soon!
What a fantastic 3 night get away! Close enough to us that we had a very easy commute and were able to visit all our local favorite spots, we come out to this coastal area almost every weekend with our Dog. The accommodations were absolutely perfect! Everything you needed was right there! I would highly recommend you read the home functions/features to get familiar with everything before you arrive. It made everything a breeze for us. I would recommend a minimum 3 night stay to really enjoy the stay. Cant wait to get back there soon! Sean

My husband and I have spent multiple weekends at the beach house. It is the perfect getaway from a busy work schedule. You are steps from the ocean with beautiful views even when the marine layer hangs in there. So relaxing and rejuvenating!
This as our second stay in less than 60 days, and it didn't disappoint. There is something magical about this property and the location. It really feels like a home, not a short term rental. It is truly an oasis.

Great location. Kids just walked down to the beach every day and enjoyed the water. Close to the Santa Cruz boardwalk and great fish market in Moss Landing. Great amenities and accommodations. Kitchen had everything needed for cooking. Lots of towels which is necessary for the trips to the beach. Weather was fantastic in August, temperate in the morning for a nice walk on the shore. Fog burned mid-morning which made the water inviting. Cannot wait to come back.

We had the BEST TIME at Sand Castle. The moment we walked in the door the first thing we saw was the gorgeous master bedroom and through the wall of windows, the gorgeous ocean. The home is gorgeous! We booked it again for August. We will come back as often as possible. It’s magical.

This beach house is special and it has an amazing loving feel to it. By far, this is one of the best places that we have stayed at. The home was clean, organized, updated, and the view is priceless. The view is hard to put into words. We were able to see dolphins every day during our stay and none of us wanted to leave. We are still talking about our stay and planning our next visit back. This is truly something special and unique. If we only had one chance to show someone how beautiful California is, we would take them to Sand Castle!

My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary here! I can't say enough about this property! The house and views are incredible!! Views from every floor, even from the shower! The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you need. The master bed was extremely comfortable. The home was very user friendly with the ability to play music or turn on a light by asking Alexa when you could not find a light switch. lol It was wonderful to be able to take our dogs with us. They adapted to beach life very easily as well. ;) Greg was quick to respond with our technology question. The only downfall was, we did not stay long enough! We are already planning our next trip to this property. Thank you again. :)
This place is amazingly closer to folks in the bay area and extremely convenient. Our family included 2 grown up kids, a small dog and the house accommodated everyone's need perfectly. The fact that the beach is just 20 steps away from the door is the most amazing experience. We literally had so many walks on the beach without a second thought any planning. The beach feels almost private with no crowds. The house is very well equipped with everything that you will need to cook or entertain yourself. Also, amazing job at making the house so accessible with all the necessary equipment for entertainment. It was so seamless. We did a couple of trips to Capitola and Santa Cruz. Good restaurants near by. We tried out Palapas and Village host pizza in Seascape. Perfect experience overall!
My husband, 7 year old son, 5 year old son, and I had a great weekend at Sand Castle. You can't beat the location...I love how quick of a drive it is from the East Bay, while still feeling like you are really on vacation. The boys loved their little nook beds and I've never had a bed in a rental property be more comfortable than my bed at home! The kids loved playing in the sand, boogie boarding, and running down the catwalk to visit friends staying in the same complex. Thanks for a great stay!
Our family of 4 (11 year old boy and 13 year old girl) plus their grandparents stayed at the beach house for 4 nights. We loved every moment of our stay. Review from our son: The pull-out couch was as comfortable as my bed at home! I like that we can talk to Alexa for everything. Review from our daughter: I liked taking sunset photos on the balcony. I liked the kitchen and the really tasty water from the fridge! Review from us: It slept the 6 of us really comfortably. The house was so clean when we arrived and we felt instantly at ease. We saw whales breaching almost every day and dolphins playing in the water. We were so happy that we got to bring our dog with us! Our son liked boogie boarding and we loved walking on the beach. We are hoping to make this a family tradition!
My BFF and I had such a lovely, relaxing, and rejuvenating stay at the Sandcastle house. To hear ocean waves throughout day and night is so wonderful. The house is nothing short of peaceful. On our last two days, we saw pods of dolphins! Amazing. It’s not too far from other great towns like Aptos, Capitola Beach, Santa Cruz, Carmel, and Monterey. The shower is amazing, with a view of the beautiful ocean in front of you. I’m excited to stay again in the bear future. Thank you for opening your space up to us, it was a beautiful trip!
This was our second visit to Sand Castle, and it was just as magical (if not more so) than the first time. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. We felt so blessed to wake up each morning to crashing waves over such an incredible view, only to enjoy the private beach and all the fun activities the area has to offer. Your home is so cozy, complete with everything we could have needed and more. Our only regret is we couldn't stay longer... and we can't wait to come back!

We enjoyed a week at Sand Castle for our honey moon and I don't think I could have imagined a better experience. Early morning walks along the beach, lazy days spent in the sand, dinners on the patio looking at amazing sunsets, and the beautiful sound of the ocean lulling you to sleep. These experiences make this a magical place and the memories you make here will never be forgotten!
We had a great time during our 4 night stay. First off, the location is AMAZING. Literally steps away from the beach and amazing views from each floor. The kids really enjoyed boogie boarding during the day and bonfires at night. The house was nicely decorated, clean, modern, and fully stocked with all the necessities. The wifi was strong enough for multiple streamers and we even were able to sometimes connect from the beach. Greg was quick to respond to any questions as well. For those living in the bay area, this was the perfect beach house getaway without having to drive too far. We are definitely looking forward to staying here again!
We enjoyed 8 nights - a much needed getaway from snow and cold. Views abound! Beach access terrific. Electronics, upstairs shower, kitchen appointments - all top notch. Two inside fireplaces make it a perfect place even when the fog rolls in or it is misty. Fire right on the beach one night during sunset was magic. We will be back for sure.
A fantastic getaway spot when you want some girlfriend leisure time. I mean, it's PERFECT!!! Every floor has spectacular views, and all the windows open to capture the amazing Pacific ocean air. The hosts provide immaculate instructions for every feature of the home, including the electronics. The keyless doors made it easy for frequent trips to the beach. It was very cool to have the Alexa 'butler' as we held a music dance experience. The hosts thought of everything; from the filtered water coffee maker, abundant cozy blankets, beach towels, board games, to beach chairs, binoculars, and any type of spice in kitchen. And the top level shower .... WOW! To shower with an ocean view....? Unbelievable, unexpected, amazing memory. We loved this short getaway - I guarantee you will too.
We enjoyed a thoroughly relaxing long weekend at this beautiful, inviting home! The kitchen is definitely well appointed and a joy to prepare meals in. You simply cannot beat the views, the accessibility to the beach, or the overall availability of the hosts. The downstairs beds are built ins and super comfortable (we thoroughly enjoyed them!)- however, they may not be suited for those on the claustrophobic side. Just a reality to bear in mind when dealing with group dynamics. Already trying to plan our next visit!!
The house, the view, the memories you will make...all are picture perfect when you stay at Sand Castle. The views of the ocean are beyond compare — you are literally right on the sand. It’s the perfect place to come and just stay. The kids love that the beach is their backyard. And there is nothing better than enjoying coffee in the AM and a glass of wine in the PM from the deck. Also one of the best stocked kitchens of anywhere I have stayed - was able to cook everything we brought with ease. I highly recommend the Sand Castle, when you need a place to relax and recharge.
A hidden gem on the California coast. We spent 3 nights here with our 3 teen sons and had an amazing time. The house is wonderful with incredible ocean views from all 3 levels. My husband was able to work remotely from the great office setup and we enjoyed quality family time at the beach and taking day trips to Monterey to golf. We will be back again as this place was great for a family of 5!

My newly married hubby & I were able to spend our honeymoon in this beautiful, romantic getaway. As you enter, you are immediately drawn to the majestic ocean just beyond the large window seat that overlooks the master bedroom. The entire home is open & inviting with each level showcasing the ocean. If you want to feel the salty beach breeze, rest on the balcony with a glass of wine or walk a couple steps onto the beach itself & enjoy the relaxing and/ or exhilarating beach activities. We loved Greg & Barbie's responsiveness, genuine care for their guests & attention to detail on the home. Their home is perfect whether you are looking for a relaxing getaway or an exciting vacation filled with beach activities. We look forward to returning on our next visit to California.

A beautifully updated modern home on the beach. If you enjoy the ocean, melodious sounds of waves in the evening, bonfires on the beach, accompanied by smores and all day boogie boarding/surfing... This is the place. Or if you prefer to sunbathe, relax with a glass of wine on the balcony staring off into the horizon, this is the place. This home ticks all the boxes for perfect getaway and "unwinding" time.

The house at sand castle was beautiful and cozy! You can’t ask for better location, exclusive private beach with easy access. Quite location, you only hear the waves. The house had everything you need or might need, also it’s 10min drive away from grocery stores. We preferred to cook and stay in the house enjoying the beach view over going out for dinner. Perfect escape from the hot weather and great to spend sometime there with the option of remote learning/working.

This beach house was our little heaven for a short time. When we entered we were instantly drawn to the couch in the window - the view is amazing and it invites you to do all your reading here. Yet it was just the first of many beautiful surprises, this house is created with love and attention to detail. From the day-light shower, to the playful sink. They change your vacation, on one cold evening we made our selves comfortable in front of the TV and turned on the fireplace which is conveniently placed next to the couch and turned the cold evening into a beautiful one. Considering all this the house could be anywhere, but on top of it all it’s so perfectly placed between Monterey and Santa Cruz. We took long walks along the beach (also walked into the water and I instantly ran out freezing - my wife stayed in), we took trips to all town around, including Carmel and Santa Cruz University which is unique in its placement in a redwood forrest. All in all we had an amazing time we will never forget and highly recommend it to anyone who has the chance to get a free time slot.
